Ecopacifier FAQ

Are Ecopacifiers made from sustainable material?

Here at Ecopiggy, we are committed to sustainability. Our Pacifiers are made of 100% pure rubber from the rubber tree, Hevea Brasillensi. These trees are sustainably grown in Malaysia. After about 20-25 years, the tree stops producing latex sap. When that happens, the trees are harvested and re-planted. The harvested wood is used extensively in furniture, flooring construction, and toys. From seed to tree to ecopacifier to wooden toys, the Hevea Brasillensi has an eco-friendly, sustainable, and high quality life

Rounded, or Orthodontic, which one should I choose?

The choice is really preference based, and it’s difficult to guess which one your baby will prefer.

Both Pacifiers are available in 0-6 mo, and 6mo+

The Rounded pacifier is recommended by Lactation Consultants. The rounded paci is round like a mothers nipple, child can have the pacifier in his or her mouth, in any position for comfort.

The Orthodontic pacifier is shaped like that of a mother’s nipple AS the child is nursing on it. The bottom is flattened on child’s tongue, just like when they are suckling. Child can only have the pacifier positioned in their mouth one way.

What are the advantages of a one-piece pacifier?

No small parts means NO choking hazard, and no little crevices for bacteria to hide making it incredibly easy to clean!

Did you send me the wrong size? The pacifier I just received is smaller and lighter than the one we already have!

What you are finding is that the original pacifier has been well loved!!!  And the material has relaxed and softened.  This happens because the Ecopacifier is a completely natural product, it does not contain stabilizing chemicals like conventional pacifiers.  Overtime, the pacifier will expand and become darker than a brand new pacifier. This is why it’s important to replace your pacifier every 6-8 weeks, or have multiple pacifiers and rotate them out.  Otherwise, your child will slowly become accustomed to the softened, expanded version, and may not be too excited when introduced to a brand new one.

Why do I have to boil my pacifier before use?

Our pacifiers are coated in a vegetable oil so that they don’t dry out in storage, packaging, and shipping. Simply immerse the pacifier in boiled water for two minutes before first use. It is IMPORTANT to remove the water from heat source, prior to submerging pacifier.  Our Pacifers are not dishwasher safe, we recommend washing in luke warm water with a mild food-grade dish soap.
